I should imagine I’ll be laughed out of the building by people like Marco for admitting this, but: woah, Starbucks VIA is pretty good. It’s not exactly Stumptown, and it doesn’t come close to good, drip-brewed coffee, but for instant, it blows the likes of Folgers and Kenco out of the water. (Get it? “Out of the water”?) Although I do wish there was a stronger variety that wasn’t Italian; I don’t like Italian roasts.
I agree completely. It’s surprisingly good, although way too expensive. I like how you can make it stronger by adding less water and it doesn’t taste terrible, which is what happens if you do that with instant coffee.
I’d be very happy to have more bold varieties of VIA available.
