  • Selecting a camera mode

I must admit that most of the time I shoot in aperture priority mode, especially when using my 50mm f/1.4 and I want to make sure I get a shallow depth of field.  But in this post on the This Week in Photography blog, Scott Bourne makes an excellent case for using shutter priority mode, especially on a camera with low noise at higher ISO settings (like my new 5D Mark II, for example).

This is definitely something I should use more.  The next time I’m out shooting I’m planning to spend some time with the camera set to Tv, and see how it goes about selecting an aperture I’d be happy with.
